For Uncorked Explorers, pairing good wine with good food is the very essence of “The Good Life”. A few pairing principles will make this second nature.
Pairing Wine With Food
Wine and food have a very ancient and happy relationship. This is why in the “Old World”, the local wine matches so well with the local food. This is why you should always ask your server for a recommendation on the wine once you have order your meal in, for example, a traditional Italian restaurant. In places and restaurants that don’t have these ancient customs and pairings, pairing wine with food becomes a bit more challenging.
That said, many people have the impression that pairing wine with food is complicated and just default to the old “red with beef and white with chicken and fish” rule. Taking your knowledge just a little bit further is quite easy and will enhance your pleasure in both the food and the wine. We at Uncorked Explorers are here to help with a few “Pairing Principles”.
